At Portland School Te Kura o Tikornagi, our learning kaupapa is deeply rooted in the holistic framework of Te Whare Tapa Whā, encompassing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our students. We are proud to offer extensive Structured Literacy and Numeracy programs that run daily, ensuring a strong foundation in core academic skills. In addition, we integrate our rich culture through waiata and Karakia, fostering a sense of identity, belonging, and cultural pride among our students. Our approach extends beyond academics; we prioritise whanaungatanga, building strong relationships and connections within our school community. Furthermore, we have embedded a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) approach across our kura, promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
